Description:
I wanted to do a cheerful painting of freedom; of celebration. I ended up painting birds flying joyfully in a blue sky. The white swirls of rocks reminded me of the trails a plane leaves in the sky. It also reminded me of confetti strings we throw at celebrations. I have often watched birds fly just for the fun of it. They are not chasing food or each other. They are simply enjoying the freedom of flight. Although I probably would never have the bravery to do such a thing even if I got the chance I marvel at the freedom it would bring. I am very three-dimensional. To be able to fly in the air freely would be wonderful I imagine. My father flew an aerobatic airplane and he enjoyed flying like a bird. He flew rolls and loops and stalls. Perhaps that is one reason I love birds so much.
I am not brave enough to actually fly like a bird but I have an innate desire to be that free.
