Barite Roses

Barite Roses (or Desert Roses as they are sometimes called) are attractive iron red clusters of crystals that resemble a rose in full bloom. They are more abundant in Oklahoma than anywhere else in the world.  They have been reported in small quantities in California, Kansas, and Egypt, but are in greatest concentration in Oklahoma.   The most abundant and well-formed specimens are found near Noble, also known as the “Rose Rock Capital of the World”.  The Rose Rock became the official state rock of Oklahoma in 1968.

Metaphysically, Barite calms scattered energy.  In healing it is said to help those who have low vitality, chronic fatigue syndrome, or exhaustion because it will gently balance your energy.  Many use Barite in ceremonies to heal the earth.  Some say Barite helps to link us to our highest purpose and higher self.  It acts as a magnet to high frequency energy, and activates and clears blockages in the upper chakras allowing for a stronger connection to intuitive abilities.  It is believed to stimulate memory and facilitate information retention.  Some use it to help in dream recall.
